CosaminDS - proven effective
in U.S Controlled Clinical Studies to support joint function
How CosaminDS works
More and more people are reaching for dietary supplements to maintain health. CosaminDS contains a unique patented formula of high purity glucosamine hydrochloride, proprietary low molecular weight chondroitin sulphate and manganese ascorbate. These molecules are part of the normal biochemistry of cartilage and other joint tissues. Glucosamine stimulates the production of cartilage matrix, chondroitin sulphate inhibits enzymes that degrade cartilage and manganese is included as a cofactor to ensure optimal cartilage matrix production. Because they have different but complementary mechanisms of action, using these compounds together yields a synergistic effect on the cartilage.(1,2) Placebo controlled study in an instability model in rabbits illustrates that the CosaminDS group maintained near normal cartilage while the placebo group's cartilage deteriorated.
Clinically tested
To date, all controlled human studies published in the United States have looked at a specific combination of glucosamine HCl, low molecular weight sodium chondroitin sulphate, and manganese ascorbate (CosaminDS).(3,4) U.S. researchers specify CosaminDS for its quality, purity and consistency.
Safety profile
CosaminDS has an excellent safety profile, with no acute oral toxicity demonstrated and no known interactions with drugs or other dietary supplements. In clinical trials the overall incidence of side effects associated with CosaminDS was similar or less than that seen in the placebo group.(3,4) No clinically significant changes in blood count including coagulation parameters were noted in a recent human trial.(4) Reported side effects in the trials included mild nausea and increased intestinal gas.
